Ayisat Yussuf, One of Our Own Soars Higher!

We’re thrilled to share a moment of pride and inspiration for our community!

Former Super Falcons star and proud Nigerian, Ayisat Yusuf, has been appointed as Head Coach of GirlPower United Afghans for the prestigious United Summer Tournament in Zurich. ⚽

Yusuf, a seasoned football defender, has left her mark on some of Nigeria's top women's football clubs — including Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Queens, and Rivers Angels — and also represented Nigeria on the international stage with Finland’s NiceFutis. Her passion for the game and dedication to empowering others continue to shine beyond the pitch.

“I have been appointed as Head Coach of GirlPower United Afghans competing in the prestigious United Summer Camp Tournament in Zurich,” Yusuf shared via social media.

This appointment isn’t just a win for her — it’s a win for all of us.

GirlPower United is more than a team — it’s a movement dedicated to empowering refugee women and girls through mentoring, education, and sports. Ayisat’s new role amplifies her ongoing mission to promote inclusion, integration, and leadership through football.

Let’s celebrate and support one of our own as she inspires the next generation and represents us with pride on the global stage.

Congratulations, Coach Ayisat Yusuf!

Keep making us proud — we’re cheering you on!
