AYDF Celebrates the Success of the Afrikan Wedding Fair 2026
The Association of Yoruba Descendants in Finland (AYDF) is delighted to celebrate the successful conclusion of the Afrikan Wedding Fair 2026, a remarkable event that showcased the beauty, diversity, and richness of African and Yoruba cultures in Finland.
Among the many highlights of the programme, the Traditional Yoruba Mock Wedding Ceremony stood out as a vibrant and unforgettable cultural presentation. The ceremony attracted significant interest from attendees and provided a beautiful opportunity to educate both Africans and non-Africans about the depth, values, and elegance of Yoruba marriage traditions.

The success of the Yoruba Mock Wedding was made possible through the dedication, commitment, and active participation of AYDF members who volunteered their time, resources, talents, and energy to ensure that every aspect of the presentation reflected the true essence of Yoruba culture and heritage.
The event served not only as entertainment but also as a cultural preservation initiative, demonstrating the importance of maintaining and promoting our traditions for future generations, even while living abroad.
AYDF extends its heartfelt appreciation to the organisers of the Afrikan Wedding Fair for creating a platform that celebrates African heritage and fosters intercultural understanding within Finnish society.
We would like to express special recognition and gratitude to Iyaafin Omolara (FJoy), the Team Lead for the Yoruba Mock Wedding project. Her vision, leadership, coordination, and unwavering commitment played a significant role in the success of the presentation. Through her efforts and those of the entire team, Yoruba culture was showcased with dignity, authenticity, and excellence.
We also acknowledge every volunteer, participant, actor, actress, cultural performer, and supporter who contributed to making the Yoruba Mock Wedding a memorable success. Your collective efforts demonstrated the strength of community collaboration and the enduring spirit of the Yoruba people.
As AYDF continues its mission of preserving, promoting, and celebrating Yoruba culture in Finland, we look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with cultural organisations across Finland and the Nordic region.
Once again, congratulations to the organisers, volunteers, and all participants for a job well done.
Ẹ kú iṣẹ́. Ẹ ṣe púpọ̀.
